About

Hello! Welcome to my personal page. This is a place where I occasionally share pieces of writing, and is only rarely updated. If you want to receive monthly missives, sign up for my TinyLetter here.

In the meantime, here are some facts about who I am.

I’m a national organizer with Nuns & Nones, an alliance of spiritually diverse millennials, women religious, and key partners working to create prophetic communities of contemplation and care that incite courageous action. In addition to Nuns & Nones, I find my spiritual home with the Benedictine Sisters of Erie PA, where I live with the community and work with Monasteries of the Heart, an “online monastery” that translates monastic wisdom for contemporary seekers.

For the past two years, I was at Harvard Divinity School studying and exploring traditional and emergent forms of communal and spiritual life for unaffiliated millennials. Additionally, I focused on communicating wisdom traditions in accessible, engaging ways, particularly with creative storytelling and podcasts. Lastly, I studied the intersection of religion, politics, and identity in contemporary society, including the interaction between technology and spirituality, Catholicism and American politics, and faith communities and social activism.

I’ve also had the great blessing of working with many projects at the intersection of spirituality, community, media, and innovation. I’ve worked with the Formation Project (born out of the work of the  Sacred Design Lab), The On Being Project’s Civil Conversations Project, and a Retreat Center Collaboration sponsored through the Fetzer Institute.

Previous to this current work, I spent several years organizing interfaith community programs, campus initiatives, and leadership programs with the Kaufman Interfaith Institute at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I also spoke to and trained hundreds of college students across the country as an alum, trainer, and public speaker for the organization Interfaith Youth Core. Lastly, I have always been committed to media and particularly radio as a tool for meaningful conversation and community growth, as general manager for my college radio station, as newsroom intern for a public radio station, and as host of a public affairs community radio program called Catalyst Radio.

I hold a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School, a Master of Interfaith Action from Claremont Lincoln University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and Political Science from Alma College. I was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan, consider Grand Rapids, Michigan my first chosen community, and am currently calling Erie, PA home.
